Staying Healthy When Wildfires Effect You

With all the wildfires this summer the stress of coping effect everyone, not only in the immediate area but further places as well.

The air and water quality is just one of the concern. Other concerns can effect outdoor activities, family life, sleeping, food, pets and many more.

Stress of being on evacuation alert and actually having to leave the home has a great effect on general health and wellbeing.

Recently when this happened to my husband and I, we felt a  disruption to our lives for couple of days. With the quick decisions of what to take with us and how to leave our home was very stressful.  Added to that, it all happened in the middle of the night.

Along with a bag of a few clothes, medication, our computers, phones, documents, camera and some food, we decided to take our portable water filtration system, and nutritional supply. All the rest we left behind.

Sharing pictures online brought us many concerns and prayers. We were grateful to those who reached out to offer a place to stay. We tried to make the experience as smooth as possible and going with our gut-feelings.

Spending time with a family close by was our choice. Getting to know them and seeing what their lives were like, even being able to the safety  of their homes,  gave us an appreciation of others in the area of wildfires. The husband is a volunteer wildfire fireman and was putting long hours volunteering, which meant he was taking time from his regular job. These volunteers main concern was to protect homes being effected in the hot zones at no cost to the owners.

The value of a Wellness Home creates a safe and healthy place to be. Air and water filtration systems will make a big difference. The quality of your sleep, energy and nutrition adds to the wellbeing of the family.

The Nikken Wellness Home has been around for over 45 years and their goal is to create a million such homes around the world in years to come. It is making a big difference no matter where "home" is.

Ours is set up in the travel trailer were are living as full-time RV-ers.
